Track Plant Construction Company Limited has taken a bold and practical step toward community empowerment and skills development through a new Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative focused on training and employment. As part of this programme, the company is providing free hands-on training to ten community members on the operation and handling of its construction machinery, with the long-term objective of employing successful trainees within the company. The initiative is being led by Mr. Ernest Yeboah of the Corporate Affairs Department.
The construction and infrastructure sector plays a critical role in national development, yet many young people and community residents lack access to the technical skills required to participate meaningfully in the industry. Track Plant Construction Company Limited recognises this gap and has designed its CSR intervention to address unemployment, skills shortages, and limited access to vocational training within local communities.
Under the programme, selected participants are being trained in the safe and efficient use of heavy-duty construction machinery, including basic operational principles, safety standards, routine maintenance awareness, and on-site work ethics. The training is being conducted by experienced professionals within Track Plant Construction Company Limited, ensuring that participants receive industry-relevant knowledge aligned with real workplace demands.
According to Mr. Ernest Yeboah, Corporate Affairs Officer, the initiative reflects the company’s belief that corporate responsibility must go beyond donations to include sustainable human development. He explained that by equipping community members with employable skills, the company is investing directly in people and creating opportunities for long-term livelihoods. “This programme is about empowerment,” he noted. “We are not only training community members for free, but we are also preparing them for employment within our operations.”
The decision to offer the training at no cost underscores Track Plant Construction Company Limited’s commitment to inclusivity and equal opportunity. Many beneficiaries would otherwise be unable to afford formal technical training. By removing financial barriers, the company is ensuring that talent and determination, rather than economic background, determine access to opportunity.
